Switch On

Wow, and I dont say this lightly.  The support we received from everyone was fantastic.  The businesses on Parkgate, Park Ave and Broadway where very generous in giving raffle prizes as were McDonald's, Nando's and Martin's the Bakers and Oldham RLFC.
North Chadderton Singers were brilliant and I for one want to hear more from them.  The staff were incredibly supportive and special thanks go to Ms Eyre and Ms Greenwood.
Our regular young helpers who turn out to every event were brilliant, best raffle ticket sellers in the business.
Father Christmas as always proved a big hit but wouldn't have been there without help from Chaddy the Owl, Chaddy the Griffin and Tony the cheeky Elf.
On Park Estate we owe a big thanks to the Police Neighbourhood team, you do a great job.
Oldham Play Action Group as always were great to work with and made the occasion special.
The event would not gone ahead without the help of FCHO & OMBC and Rev David Penny at St. Matthew's C of E Church.
And a Big Big thanks to our treasurer Vicky Crane for manning the stall tonight and Nisha for manning the stall on Chadderton Christmas market.
A massive thanks to everyone that came to the event and bought raffle tickets etc-you are brilliant.

Just one thing before I go.  We need your help.  We need a little bit of your time to help us do things for Park Estate.  So please think about coming to meetings next year.

Some of the graffiti present in the subway today.

No prizes for guessing what this patch is.

Graffiti

Before and after shots of the graffiti on the Taunton Rd ginnel.  Street Scene did a great job.

Broadway subway

Just had the displeasure of talking to the Highways Agency about the public toilet that is the subway under Broadway. Not a great agency!
If you have to walk through this subway at all you know how bad it is so I am urging everyone to report every bit of litter, every leaf, every bit of graffiti and the rest every time you find the subway unacceptable.  Do this either through their website or by phoning them on 0300 123 5000.
Quote the road number A663 and the structure key number 5801 and keep doing it.  I for one have had enough.

Walkabout

FCHO tenants officer for Park Estate-Lisa Hallsworth and PCSO Rachel Pressdee did the estate walk about on Thursday.  The main things that were noted were the state of the block paving on Park View, missing grids and an amount of graffiti in the ginnel off Taunton Rd.  All are in hand, so watch this space.

Web Building

I've just got in after attending the 'Tenants on the Web' course at Trafford Hall in Cheshire. Trafford Hall www.traffordhall.com   is a brilliant facility and its well worth having a look at the courses they offer.  I can highly recommend it.

Annual General Meeting

Park Estate Tenants and Residents Association will be holding their Annual General Meeting at 1 Penzance Place at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday 21st September.
This is your chance to elect officers to the association-the outgoing committee stand down and a new one is elected.
It's your chance to stand for election.  This doesn't mean that you have to chair meetings or deal with the finances (you can if you want to) you could just attend the meetings which are held once a month.  You could do a little more like delivering leaflets or manning a stall at a fund raising event.
We would really like your help so why not come along on the 21st.
Remember doing a little could mean you are really doing a lot for the estate.
Look forward to seeing you there.

Baretrees Fun Day

Vicky and I had a stall at Baretrees fun day on Saturday.  It was a good day for it even though it was a bit blowy-FCHO kept losing their leaflets.  Good to see so many families enjoying themselves.
As usual we did "Paint Your Own Mug".  Unlike Chadderton Day we didn't sell up but you can't win them all.
As a Tenants and Residents association we will have to do a lot of fun raising this year as the Big Lottery funding as come to an end.  So all help will be greatly received.
Have a look at the notice board for dates of committee meetings.  Come along, we will try not to be too boring and not expect you to to do lots of things but it would be good to see some new faces.
